The Labex PLAS@PAR, a 7-year project driven by Sorbonne University and awarded in 2011 in the frame of the Investments for the Future Program of France (PIA) will end in December 31, 2019.

A new structure will start in 2020 and will take over the actions initiated by the Labex: a Research Federation in Plasma Physics.

---

SAVE THE DATE: A General meeting will be held on January 13, 2020 at 2pm (Pierre et Marie Campus, Conference Center, Tower 44, First floor). We will discuss the following points:

  • general information about the federation
  • first discussions on the work's organization
  • first discussions on the orientations

---

Benefiting from the wealth of experiences shared through PLAS@PAR, the Federation (which will keep the same name: PLAS@PAR) will continue the work, perpetuate, enrich and amplify the dynamism of its scientific community by carrying out the following actions:

• To integrate interdisciplinary aspects into research projects by developing researches at the borders of physics: chemistry, engineering, mathematics, biology, medicine, environment, archeology, human and social sciences, etc.

• To support the development of emerging research themes: plasma/ agriculture, ultra-relativistic plasmas, plasma/renewable energies.

• To support plasma teaching from Bachelor level within the academic institutions.

• To increase the visibility of the community through scientific events and outreach actions.

• To encourage relationships between teams.
